The Oklahoma City Thunder is looking to shape the future of the NBA and its community by making data-driven decisions, and the Analyst Intern in Basketball Operations will play a vital role in uncovering valuable insights to influence strategy and performance.
Requirements
- Some experience with technical tools for analysis such as R (Tidyverse, etc.), Python, SQL, etc.
- Some experience in areas such as database systems, data wrangling, and data visualization
- Knowledge of Shiny, Markdown, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS a plus
Responsibilities
- Work with diverse, large, and sophisticated datasets to solve dynamic problems
- Perform statistical analysis and predictive modeling, collaborating with stakeholders in various functions
- Communicate and present findings through impactful reports and presentations
Other
- Preferably enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics or economics
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver clear and effective messages to a variety of stakeholders
- Passion for basketball and sports are key
- Experience working with and protecting confidential information
- Ability to work on short notice, evenings, weekends, and holidays
