Google's Analytics team is tasked with building data infrastructure and providing actionable insights at scale in partnership with Sales and the rest of the Americas Business Strategy and Operations (ABS&O) team, and is seeking a strategic Business Analyst Manager to lead and scale this vital function.
Requirements
- 9 years of experience working in data analytics, consulting, data science, engineering, or a technical operations role.
- 9 years of experience in statistical problem solving and analyzing data sets using SQL or comparable coding language (e.g. Python, R, Java, C++).
- Experience working with data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience in designing and managing a strategic technical roadmap.
- Experience in data analysis, with the ability to solve problems in complex, fast-moving, and ambiguous business environments through strong data intuition and business acumen.
- Experience with Google SQL, PLX, and AppScript.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business needs into technical requirements, provide data-driven recommendations, and drive through to deployment.
- Present clear and compelling data-backed recommendations to executive leadership, influencing strategic direction and business outcomes.
- Manage and develop a team of business analysts, and support them through technical coaching, standards-setting, prioritization, and task allocation as well as a robust roadmap that can be agile / adaptable to changing stakeholder needs.
- Oversee BI solutions and infrastructure design to facilitate data sourcing/gathering, storage, and retrieval to output a suite of reports, queries, and dashboards to democratize information for decision-makers across the organization.
- Lead in-depth analyses across multiple data-sets (e.g., business, product adoption, operations, headcount data) to drive data-driven decision-making on critical business sales motions and initiatives.
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Quantitative Science, or related technical fields, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience managing a team.
- Excellent executive communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven recommendations to non-technical executive leadership.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, etc.)
