The New York Times App Platform team is looking for an Android Engineer to build shared Android tools that support all NYT apps, enabling faster, more seamless native experiences for millions of readers.
Requirements
- 2+ years of Android development experience
- Proficient in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and reactive programming
- Experience with GraphQL APIs
- Experience in mobile platform engineering
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for Android
- Interest in building scalable systems across multiple apps
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Android infrastructure and shared libraries
- Collaborate with product teams to solve cross-app challenges
- Write unit, integration, and UI tests
- Contribute to a culture of inclusion, learning, and journalistic integrity

- This is a hybrid role based in our New York City headquarters, reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, App Platform team.
