Booz Allen is looking for an experienced back-end developer to identify potential risks, contribute to solution development, and create efficient and effective API solutions for their clients.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in backend or platform engineering with a focus on distributed systems and API design
- 5+ years of experience in software development using Java or Python
- 3+ years of experience designing, deploying, and operating real-time, low-latency API platforms at scale such as Apigee, Gravitee, Kong, AWS API Gateway, or MuleSoft
- 2+ years of experience with common DevOps practices and technologies, including Docker and Helm, Kubernetes, or GitOps workflows
- Experience with protocols such as HTTP, gRPC, and WebSockets, caching, load balancing, and API security
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with Git and collaboration tools, including Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, Nexus, or Bitbucket
Responsibilities
- Contribute to solution development
- Create efficient and effective API solutions
- Deliver tools, systems, and sites with consistent performance and scalability
- Design, deploy, and operate real-time, low-latency API platforms at scale
- Gather requirements and engage with clients
- Work with the development team to deliver solutions
- Use the latest architectural approaches, open-source frameworks, and commercial products to deliver solutions

- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance
- Master’s degree (nice to have)
- Experience acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization (nice to have)
