This position is located in the Bureau of Information Technology Services, Richland County. We are looking for an Application Developer II who will perform writing, testing and documentation of moderately complex to complex computer programs within the Application Development Team.
Requirements
- Moderate application-level knowledge of capabilities, programming techniques, and intricacies of information systems.
- Moderate knowledge of computer languages.
- Moderate application-level ability to write and revise computer programs.
- Moderate application-level ability to understand and carry out technical instructions and requests.
- Moderate application-level ability to analyze and reduce to logical order complex technical data.
- Ability to provide status reports and other technical reports in a clear and concise manner.
Responsibilities
- Monitors and maintains production systems, ensuring that production standards are satisfied.
- Programs the computer by encoding project requirements in computer language; entering coded information into the computer.
- Provide investigation, diagnosis, resolution and recovery for configuration/deployment software problems.
- When unable to resolve, escalate to tier three or contracted support in accordance with ITS escalation processes.
- Scheduling meetings with end users, listening to end user needs, taking accurate notes, asking relevant questions, reviewing current system documentation, procedures and or application demo.
- Knowing the limits of what is possible.
- Backup support to the agency’s public facing website in the event web master is out of the office.

- Occasional overnight travel.
