The Police Department is seeking an Application Developer to be responsible for application development, integration, and support, including the creation of interfaces and reports across multiple databases for both internal and vendor-purchased solutions.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with ETL, PowerShell, SharePoint, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI
  • Visual Studio C-Sharp, .Net tools, MVC, ASP.Net, Web Forms, Entity Framework, IIS
  • JavaScript, jQuery, HTML (5), CSS (3), Bootstrap, XML, JSON, XSLT, Templates, style sheets
  • Creating and consuming APIs (REST, SOAP, .Net Web API), API development for mobile and desktop platforms
  • Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Stored Procedures, Normalized Database Design, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), DAX
  • Team Foundation Server (TFS)/Azure DevOps and Visual Studio for team-based application development.
  • Experience with Modern Application Development Patterns such as Repository Pattern, Unit of Work, Dependency Injection, Responsive Web Design, Unit Testing, and API-first Methodology.

  • manages coding and configuration in line with established standards
  • conducts complex diagnostics and troubleshooting for designated applications, including custom-built and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) systems
  • creating test scripts, performing QA reviews to enhance implementation success and reduce defects
  • maintaining web-based applications and dashboards

  • gathering requirements and performing business analyst duties for various functions or complex customer needs
  • engaging with technical and non-technical staff to define project requirements
  • providing clear written and verbal communication to customer areas and senior IT leadership
  • performing independent judgment and decision-making, especially related to diagnostics and troubleshooting with enterprise applications or infrastructure
  • performing primary and secondary highly technical application or product support
