The Port Arthur, TX Engineering Co-op is to provide support of End-User Aftermarket Application Engineering team and local Sales Engineers in various business activities related to mechanical seals, seal support systems, and pumps.
Requirements
- Ability to utilize measuring equipment (i.e. dial calipers, micrometers, etc.) a plus
- Demonstrates mechanical aptitude
- Ability to learn quickly and develop good troubleshooting skills
Responsibilities
- Will support the equipment survey process and Flowstar.net program
- Will support inventory survey and consolidation efforts
- Will support daily advancements toward the agreed upon as set forth by the Engineering Manager
- Will examine failed products, providing both written and oral explanations to the responsible Flowserve personnel
- Develop and acquire basic knowledge of pump and mechanical seal fundamentals to support Flowserve activities.
- Develop and maintain working relationship with Application Engineers, Sales Engineers, Regional Reliability Engineer, and Engineering Manager
- Will support key initiatives supporting the local Flowserve Quick Response Center
Other
- Currently enrolled in BS of Engineering. In good standing at an accredited university
- Able to be onsite in Port Arthur area. (This is not a remote role.)
- Good communication skills and computer skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft programs a must
- Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities in a self-directed environment
- Strong work ethic with positive attitude
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to travel occasionally to support needs within the Southeast Region
