The Applications Analyst II is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing software applications critical to organizational operations, ensuring that software solutions align with business needs, and improving system performance and efficiency.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience with HL7 messaging required
  • 1-2 years of experience in healthcare information systems in a role requiring technical analysis, process design, database utilization and application implementation required
  • At least two (2) years of hands-on experience with the Mirth interface engine required
  • Proficiency in data analysis, workflow documentation, and system configuration.
  • Knowledge of HL7 messaging standards and integration engine tools.
  • Knowledge of change management processes and system maintenance best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Performs in-depth analysis of data workflow requirements, leading to the building, testing, and validation of interface projects, ensuring efficient and accurate information exchange.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in system integrations, working with internal and external systems to ensure interfaces meet expected performance and clinical workflow automation goals.
  • Troubleshoots interface and application issues, providing prompt resolution and support for integrated applications within and outside the organization.
  • Develops and maintains thorough documentation for interface support work, system changes, and change management processes.
  • Conducts daily maintenance functions for interfaces and engines, ensuring system reliability and addressing potential issues proactively.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and reports on the effectiveness of existing systems, proposing and implementing testing strategies for improvement and optimization.
  • Translates interface requirements into technical HL7 specifications in collaboration with Application Analysts, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Other

  • Collaborates with Market functional areas and IT teams to align application functionality with organizational objectives and ensure seamless integration of software solutions.
  • Fields incoming help desk tickets from end users to resolve application and software integration issues, communicating resolutions clearly and effectively.
  • Manages multiple projects concurrently, developing actionable strategies and resources for project completion, while escalating issues appropriately to ensure timely resolution.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required or A combination of education and progressive experience in application support or analysis may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders effectively.
