The Mississippi Management and Reporting System (MMRS) needs to develop, enhance, maintain, and support a suite of statewide applications that serve as a central repository for accurate, timely, and relevant management information. These applications support critical functions across accounting, purchasing, human resources, and more, forming the backbone of Mississippi’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Requirements
- Experience with the MAGIC system or other large-scale enterprise financial management systems preferred.
- Prior experience leading system integration or configuration projects involving multiple functional areas.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
- In-depth knowledge of grants management and financial integration within large enterprise systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide end-user support for GM-related issues within the MAGIC system.
- Collaborate with developers and technical staff to resolve, test, and validate GM and FI issues.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for validation and substitution rule configuration, updates, and troubleshooting.
- Lead testing efforts for system upgrades, fiscal year-end processing, and other major functional activities.
- Develop and maintain validation and substitution rules in alignment with state and agency requirements.
- Partner with business owners and technical teams to assess cross-module impacts of rule changes.
- Serve as the functional lead for finance integrations with external and internal systems.

- This Applications Developer II role is a functional, business analyst/support position rather than a technical programming or software development role.
- The employee will serve as the functional lead for both the Grants Management (GM) module and the Finance Integration (FI) components within the MAGIC system.
- This role plays a critical part in supporting system operations, implementing enhancements, and ensuring successful cross-functional integration across financial systems.
- The position requires advanced problem-solving skills, deep functional knowledge of state financial systems, and the ability to coordinate between technical teams and business owners.
- Provide functional guidance and training to end-users and staff within the GM and FI modules.
- Document system processes, procedures, and testing results.
- Work collaboratively with other functional leads to ensure consistency and efficiency across modules.
