The University of South Florida (USF) Research & Innovation (R&I) is seeking to develop, manage, and document its Research Enterprise systems, which include portals, databases, applications, and intranet, in order to support over $730 million in sponsored contracts and grants annually while ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training, and four years of IT related work experience, OR a Bachelor's degree with no specific required field and five years of IT related work experience, OR a Master's degree and three years of IT related work experience, OR a combination of eight years of IT related work experience and validated training.
- Significant professional experience in application programming, system integration, database design, and application modification and maintenance.
- Experience with industry standard programming software languages and frameworks.
- Experience with Oracle and Azure Lakehouse databases.
- Experience with application interface deployment and configuration tools.
- Experience with application development life cycle including analysis, coding, testing, and documentation.
- Ability to serve as a subject matter expert on software, security, and application administration in a complex enterprise computing environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements and data needs. Develop and maintain reliable, relational, and scalable database systems.
- Lead needs assessment and solution development for customers. Design, implement, and support software applications and integrated database solutions.
- Configure application appearances, styles, and branding using industry standard interface deployment and configuration tools.
- Application and integration troubleshooting and problem solving across multiple platforms (production/QA/test/development).
- Evaluate and research emerging technologies and processes and their application to USF Research Systems, Databases, Security Methods and User Interfaces.
- Design and maintain application interface guidelines for technical projects. Create user and technical support documentation.
- Execute the detailed application design of larger and/or more complex internal projects collaborating with stakeholders, service owners, and partners.
