Airbus Robotics is looking for an Applications Engineer 2 to join their Engineering team to investigate product issues, analyze customer feedback, and improve product design and performance.
Requirements
- Full stack development experience working with both browser and server
- Serenity developers: comfort programming in JavaScript. Experience programming with Typescript, Json, React and Node.js. Optional AngularJS experience.
- UI framework experience, for example Material UI, Next.js, D3
- Experience in some or all of the following protocols: HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, REST APIs, Websockets, CAN, I2C, SPI, RS-232, RS-485.
- The ability to understand, develop, and debug high-level software routines as well as system-wide software architectures.
- Working knowledge of the following platforms: Windows desktop and Linux embedded products.
- Proficient in reading/interpreting JSON and XML
Responsibilities
- Investigate product issues during new product testing and bring up at Airbus Robotics and at customer sites post-delivery, support root cause analysis of failures, and propose remediation in a timely fashion.
- Analyze customer feedback including warranty requests and generate prioritized actions to address shortcomings associated with the company’s products.
- Perform troubleshooting and limited repairs at customer sites as well as at Airbus Robotics facilities in Seattle or in the EU.
- Review existing product design, identify weaknesses, propose, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of improvements.
- Perform application programming on specialized platforms with applications in automation and robotics.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electromechanical issues. This includes work with common tools such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Develops, plans, and executes a project and leads one or more operators, technicians, and/or associate engineers on the execution of design tasks, prototype builds, and test setups.
Other
- 3-5 years of experience working in a robotics/automation/manufacturing setting
- Past ownership with large parts of a project
- Experience on projects involving physical hardware systems and various types of users
- Knowledge of modern programming practices, along with a willingness to work with and troubleshoot code designed to older standards.
- 20% minimum travel required to customer sites both domestically and internationally
