The organization, a pre-IPO technology startup, is looking to simplify car ownership through artificial intelligence and machine learning, and the Applied Data Scientist role is responsible for ensuring data quality, building machine learning models, and delivering value across real-world applications that impact millions of users in the car maintenance and auto insurance sectors.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas/NumPy) and SQL for complex querying and data manipulation
- Hands-on experience with data cleaning techniques and data validation frameworks
- Familiarity with data visualization tools
Responsibilities
- Participate in the full modeling lifecycle, including statistical analysis, experimentation, building, validating, and iterating on machine learning models
- Prepare, clean, and transform raw, complex data into high-quality features for modeling
- Proactively identify and address missing values, outliers, and inconsistencies in data
- Investigate data discrepancies such as tracking bugs, ETL errors, and definitional issues
- Design automated frameworks to ensure data accuracy
- Collaborate with data engineering and product teams to define and drive the data strategy and centralized feature store
- Create and maintain clear documentation for data sources, cleaning processes, and variable definitions
