Meta Platforms, Inc. is looking to improve the efficiency and performance of its platforms through the development of new optimization algorithms and techniques, as well as the creation of large-scale distributed software systems.
Requirements
- Building models and developing algorithms for machine learning, statistics, mathematical programming, and simulation
- Developing and supporting models in production
- Modeling and analyzing up to petabytes of data using R or Python
- Initiating and driving applied research projects to completion with minimal guidance
- Communicating applied research work to technical and non-technical audience
- Master's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field
- 36 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation
Responsibilities
- Research, design, and develop new optimization algorithms and techniques to improve the efficiency and performance of Meta platforms.
- Design and implement large-scale distributed software systems to serve large numbers of complex requests simultaneously and without failure.
- Utilize technical research background, train new ranking models, and run experiments.
- Create tools for migrating large bodies of user data across systems for new products, scalability efforts, and development of new core infrastructure.
- Use machine learning, statistics, or other data techniques to build algorithms.
- Suggest, collect, and synthesize system requirements form stakeholders, and create effective feature roadmaps.
- Analyze and resolve computer challenges from a system-engineering standpoint.
