The Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team at Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an Applied Scientist to build industry-leading technology with Large Language Models (LLMs) and multimodal systems, aiming to enhance customer experiences through state-of-the-art products and services that harness the power of speech and language technology.
Requirements
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience researching about machine learning, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, data science
- Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application
- Experience programming or scripting language like Python, Java, C or C++
- PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field
- Have publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
- Experience in solving business problems through machine learning, data mining and statistical algorithms
Responsibilities
- lead the development of advanced approaches and modeling techniques, driving forward the frontier of LLM technology
- innovating model-in-the-loop and human-in-the-loop approaches to ensure the collection of high-quality data
- safeguarding data privacy and security for LLM training
- support the science solution design
- run experiments
- research new algorithms
- find new ways of optimizing the customer experience

- This is currently a temporary contract opportunity (12 to 24 months duration) based on business needs
- setting examples for the team on good science practice and standards
- work closely with talented engineers and scientists to put algorithms and models into practice
- The base pay for this position ranges from $62.21/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $102.31/hr in our highest geographic market.
