Aviation Products Systems, Inc. (APS) is looking to solve the problem of designing and manufacturing high-quality aircraft brake discs and linings for the general and business aviation markets, ensuring compliance with FAA requirements and standard manufacturing practices.
Requirements
- CAD/3D modeling design experience
- General knowledge of drafting standards and specifications
- Experience with aircraft components and systems is strongly preferred
- Shop time, manufacturing or other hands-on experience is preferred
- Experience in reverse engineering is preferred
- Familiarity with aerospace and FAA specifications and processes preferred
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and MS Office applications preferred
Responsibilities
- Research and understand part function, operating conditions and failure modes and effects
- Draft solid models and inspection sketches for parts using SolidWorks
- Coordinate material analysis and performance testing
- Analyze dimensional and material results and make design decisions based off measured data, manufacturing capabilities, part function and failure modes
- Make drawing notes decisions including proper use of industry specifications
- Prepare production drawings using ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards
- Provide engineering support for procurement, manufacturing, receiving (QA), and certification
