Apple's Vision Products Group (VPG) is looking to improve the user experience of their products, specifically the Apple Vision Pro, a revolutionary spatial computer, by leading a team that shapes how developers and customers experience their products.

Requirements

  • Experience developing on AR/VR platforms with a strong understanding of spatial computing interactions.
  • Hands-on experience with modern UI frameworks such as React, Flutter, Xamarin, or similar technologies.
  • Experience in framework design or user-interaction paradigms.
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling tools and development environments.
  • 8+ years of software development experience, including managing managers and leading multi-level engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated success as a user-experience-driven product owner, with a passion for creating intuitive, delightful interactions that put the user first.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners, particularly design and human interface teams, ensuring solutions meet both technical feasibility and design excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a world-class, diverse engineering organization responsible for core UI components and infrastructure for VPG along with foundational SwiftUI systems that power volumetric applications and experiences.
  • Drive a cohesive cross-functional partnership with design, HI, and other engineering teams to ensure seamless, intuitive UI patterns and interactions.
  • Shape and influence the API strategy for foundational aspects of SwiftUI as they apply to VPG, taking a hands-on and deeply technical approach when needed.
  • Oversee delivery of complex, high-impact software projects, ensuring exceptional quality, performance, accessibility, scalability, and on-time execution.
  • Serve as a key technical and organizational leader, navigating complex tradeoffs, resolving ambiguity, and ensuring decisions reflect a holistic perspective.
  • Develop and grow engineering talent at all levels, supporting both engineers and managers through clear expectations, thoughtful coaching, and opportunities for continuous learning.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative team culture where every voice is valued, ideas are explored openly, and innovation is encouraged.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to guide teams through complex technical challenges while maintaining a broad, Apple-wide perspective.
  • Track record of building and sustaining an inclusive, healthy team culture, fostering diversity of thought, background, and experience, and delivering accessible software for all users.
