College Board is seeking an Architect to lead mobile engineering teams and drive the development of high-quality applications for both iOS and Android, ensuring seamless delivery and providing guidance and mentorship to the teams.
Requirements
- Proven track record of leading mobile engineering teams and delivering high-quality mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms.
- Expert-level knowledge of Swift, SwiftUI, and familiarity with Android development languages and frameworks.
- Extensive experience with Xcode, Instruments, and equivalent Android development tools for performance analysis and code optimization.
- Strong understanding of mobile data layers, including networking APIs, deserialization, caching, and databases.
- Experience with releasing apps on both the App Store and Google Play Store.
- Experience with GraphQL, Apollo SDK, and other modern data fetching and state management techniques.
- Hands-on experience with backend for front-end server-side systems to optimize client-side experiences.
Responsibilities
- Architect and Implement advanced mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms, ensuring robustness, scalability, and maintainability
- Translate complex design comps into pixel-perfect mobile user interfaces with an eye for detail and design aesthetics.
- Optimize mobile applications for maximum performance and scalability using Xcode, Instruments, and equivalent Android development tools.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of iOS frameworks and Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align mobile development with the company's strategic goals, ensuring a cohesive product architecture
- Drive the integration of mobile apps with server-side APIs and enterprise backend systems, ensuring efficient and effective communication between platforms.
- Lead the iOS and Android engineering teams, including conducting code reviews, setting technical standards, and evaluating new technologies and tools.

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- The ability to travel 3-4 times a year to College Board offices or on behalf of College Board business if not local
- Authorization to work in the United States for any employer
