The Department of Art and Design at The University of Tampa needs part-time live art models to provide art students with opportunities to practice and improve their perceptive skills and artistic expression inspired by the human form.
Requirements
- Able to hold a pose for a short time for gesture.
- Able to hold a pose for longer, sustained exercises (lasting 16-18 minutes).
- Prepared to come to class with a robe and appropriate footwear to cover up between undraped poses.
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and hygiene while posing.
- Models with long hair should keep their hair off the neckline when posing.
- Prepared to contribute to a professional work environment that fosters knowledge of, respect for, and the development of skills relevant to the field of art and design.
Responsibilities
- Provide art students with the opportunity to practice, learn, and improve their perceptive skills and quality of artistic expression inspired by the human form.
- Hold a pose for a short time for gesture.
- Hold a pose for longer, sustained exercises (lasting 16-18 minutes).
- Communicate directly with the course instructor regarding the length and style of the pose, or costuming, when posing draped.
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and hygiene while posing.
- Collaborate with the course instructor on meeting the needs of each class.
- Keep long hair off the neckline when posing.
Other
- Part-time schedule not to exceed 29 hours per week/1000 hours per year.
- Seasonal employment on an as-needed basis.
- Future modeling assignments are on a term-by-term basis, which may include fall, spring, and summer.
