To lead the strategic planning and execution of simulation-based validation efforts for autonomous vehicle development at General Motors
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 10 years of extensive experience in simulation and testing, preferably within the autonomous vehicle domain
- Proven track record in developing or testing large-scale Machine Learning (ML) systems
- Strong understanding of simulation platforms and methodologies
- Hands-on experience in implementing validation methods and evaluation strategies, including defining relevant metrics and correlating simulation performance with real-world behavior
- Proficiency in software engineering, particularly in programming languages relevant to simulation and testing
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of simulation-based validation strategies for autonomous systems
- Guide and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence
- Define and implement robust validation methods, including creating challenging test scenarios and analyzing results at scale to ensure system robustness
- Collaborate cross-functionally with autonomous system development teams to ensure seamless integration of simulation testing into the overall product development process
- Influence technical roadmaps and strategic priorities to align simulation efforts with corporate objectives and product milestones
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in simulation technologies and incorporate them into testing frameworks
