West Virginia University is looking to fill a tenure-track faculty position in computer science with a focus on AI/ML to develop and sustain an independent, internationally recognized and competitive externally-sponsored research program
Requirements
- Earned Doctorate degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or a closely related field
- Notable record of peer-reviewed publications and other scholarly activities
- Evidence of potential to attract competitive research funding
- Experience with programming languages and software development
- Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and practices
Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain an independent, internationally recognized and competitive externally-sponsored research program
- Collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams of faculty and other researchers across WVU campus, other academic and government institutions, as well as the private sector
- Teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Perform professional service activities within and outside the university
- Conduct research in areas such as theory and applications of artificial intelligence (AI)/ machine learning (ML) in robotics, health, biometrics, and cybersecurity
- Participate in research projects, including F1Tenth, Smart City, Virtual and Augmented reality, cybersecurity of Drones, and AI-based control
- Develop and teach courses in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, and data science
