The Ohio State University's Department of Psychology is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor in Quantitative Psychology to advance quantitative approaches to psychological science, with a focus on areas such as psychometrics and psychological testing, item response theory, factor analysis, structural equation modeling, and longitudinal and time-series analysis.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in psychology or a closely related field by the anticipated start date of Autumn 2026
- Publication record commensurate with career stage
- Potential to make meaningful contributions to one or more substantive research areas in the Department of Psychology
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring at both undergraduate and graduate levels
- Experience with quantitative methodology, including psychometrics and psychological testing, item response theory, factor analysis, structural equation modeling, and longitudinal and time-series analysis
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across disciplines
Responsibilities
- Sustain an active research program, demonstrated through publications in relevant journals and scholarly outlets, as well as efforts to secure external funding
- Teach and develop undergraduate and graduate-level courses
- Provide mentorship and academic advising to both undergraduate and graduate students
- Contribute to the collaborative governance and administrative functions of the department
- Develop and teach courses that will be attractive to graduate and undergraduate students, both within and beyond the department
- Advance research topics that build on existing strengths
- Collaborate with colleagues across campus and with research centers and institutes
