The Ohio State University's Department of Psychology is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor in Quantitative Psychology to advance quantitative approaches to psychological science, with a focus on areas such as psychometrics and psychological testing, item response theory, factor analysis, structural equation modeling, and longitudinal and time-series analysis.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in psychology or a closely related field by the anticipated start date of Autumn 2026
  • Publication record commensurate with career stage
  • Potential to make meaningful contributions to one or more substantive research areas in the Department of Psychology
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring at both undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Experience with quantitative methodology, including psychometrics and psychological testing, item response theory, factor analysis, structural equation modeling, and longitudinal and time-series analysis
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across disciplines

Responsibilities

  • Sustain an active research program, demonstrated through publications in relevant journals and scholarly outlets, as well as efforts to secure external funding
  • Teach and develop undergraduate and graduate-level courses
  • Provide mentorship and academic advising to both undergraduate and graduate students
  • Contribute to the collaborative governance and administrative functions of the department
  • Develop and teach courses that will be attractive to graduate and undergraduate students, both within and beyond the department
  • Advance research topics that build on existing strengths
  • Collaborate with colleagues across campus and with research centers and institutes

  • Must hold a Ph.D. in psychology or a closely related field by the anticipated start date of Autumn 2026
  • Must be able to work in the United States
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be able to provide three letters of reference
