Requirements
- Strong understanding of generative AI tools and their application in teaching and learning
- Experience in design thinking, needs assessment, and prototyping
- Familiarity with AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude), LMS platforms (e.g., Canvas), and content platforms (e.g., Coursera, OpenStax)
- Project management across academic and technical teams
- Ability to synthesize diverse stakeholder input into actionable strategies
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and/or regulatory requirements
- Experience launching pilot programs or innovation initiatives in higher education
Responsibilities
- Co-design and manage faculty-focused innovation pilot programs
- Lead communications related to Rice’s AI-in-education initiatives
- Build a culture of experimentation around AI-powered pedagogy
- Identify promising use cases for AI in education
- Collaborate with partners to align projects with Rice’s strategic goals
- Manage the administration and evaluation of programs focused on AI in teaching and learning
- Support development of RFPs and pilot programs, including gathering feedback, supporting evaluation, and iterating on pilot outcomes
Other
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 4+ years of professional experience in instructional design, faculty development, academic innovation, or related fields
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage projects simultaneously
- Excellent attention to detail
