SUNY Maritime College is looking to hire an Assistant Professor of Data Science and Machine Learning to teach core undergraduate Computer Science courses and advanced Machine Learning and AI courses, as well as mentor students and contribute to curriculum development.
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Science
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate Computer Science courses and specialized AI/ML courses
- Research experience in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Big Data
- Industry experience in AI-driven technologies, data analytics, or scalable computing systems
Responsibilities
- Teach core undergraduate Computer Science courses, such as Data Structures and Algorithms
- Teach advanced Machine Learning and AI courses, including Deep Neural Networks and related topics
- Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research projects
- Engage in departmental service activities and contributing to updating curriculum development and assessment
- Maintain office hours for assisting students
- Engage in scholarly activities
- University service including participation on committees
