The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Toledo seeks to fill one or more 9-month tenure track Assistant Professor(s) in the field of Interdisciplinary Data Science to develop an active, independent, externally funded research program that uses data science techniques.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or closely related fields is required.
- Postdoctoral experience or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- Excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level in astrophysics and astronomy as well as data science is expected
Responsibilities
- develop an active, independent, externally funded research program that uses data science techniques, such as machine learning, data mining, artificial intelligence, or other big data techniques.
- involve both graduate and undergraduate students in their research program.
- substantially contribute to and lead the development of new academic programs and revision of existing programs to best meet the needs of University of Toledo students.
