LPL Financial is seeking an Assistant Vice President to create highly available and performant systems, and to lead a tech team to design, develop, test and implement highly available and scalable technical solutions based on business requirements and strategic direction.
Requirements
- 8+ experience with the following technologies: .NET core, AWS/Azure with Kubernetes and Docker, SQL/Postgres/MongoDB, Kafka, Microservices, Angular, and Typescript
- 6+ years of experience with designing scalable APIs using containers over Docker/Kubernetes
- Experience with front-end platforms, like Angular (preferred) or Nx.Js, along with test platforms such as Cypress, Jest, etc.
- Experience with owning and production support of mission-critical applications.
- Experience working in a trading domain with knowledge of backend trading and order execution workflows
- Experience working with global delivery teams
- 6+ years of related experience in wealth management and the financial industry
Responsibilities
- Lead a tech team to design, develop, test and implement highly available and scalable technical solutions based on business requirements and strategic direction.
- Deep understanding and seasoned on AWS platform and Cloud DevOps.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including architecture, data, product, and business partners, and strategies to scale and modernize existing trading platforms.
- Work collaboratively with quality assurance engineering teams, DevOps and PMO to ensure all SDLC processes and Agile best practices are followed.
- Code and implement guardrails to enable self-service and frictionless delivery allowing teams to build and own end-to-end applications and services in the cloud.
- Formulating workable solutions to complex challenges, logically deliberating on courses of action by examining and challenging assumptions, discerning hidden value, objectively evaluating evidence, and assessing conclusions.
- Measure success by say/do, velocity, defect remediation, and clear value to the trading platforms.
Other
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of progressive experience in owning and driving full stack applications as hands-on Engineering Tech Lead
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
- Strong estimation, foresight, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interface effectively with senior SVP/EVP level executives and business stake holders.
