At T-Mobile, the Associate Data Scientist is responsible for applying statistical, advanced analytics, and at least three generations of AI to solve business problems, creating real business value from data.
Requirements
- Basic calculus, linear algebra, statistics, and probability (Required)
- Good Knowledge of Python and SQL (Required)
- Solid understanding of machine learning concepts and techniques related to supervised and unsupervised learning. (Required)
- Familiarity with Agile Methodology (Preferred)
- Less than 2 years Experience with Python and SQL Preferred
- Less than 2 years Experience in visualization Preferred
- Less than 2 years Industry experience in predictive modeling, data science, machine learning, advanced analytics, and AI in a Data scientist role, ML Scientist, or Deep learning scientist role Preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop advanced analytical solutions to solve business problems; pre-process and perform exploratory data analysis on structured, unstructured and semi structured data across at least two modalities (text, audio, image, video); create features based on expertise in the domain; use predictive modeling techniques and statistical analysis to predict outcomes and behaviors; design intelligent agents to unlock automation and decision support.
- Support business partners and product owners to understand business challenges, develop cases, capture requirements, co-create solutions that drive business change that solve the challenges and deliver impactful business outcomes.
- Support teams’ mission to partner with leaders across T-Mobile to understand the “art of the possible” and identify AI/ML opportunities to grow our business, reduce costs, manage risk, detect anomalous behavior, forecast/predict outcomes, and delight our customers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team comprised of other data scientists, data engineers, ML engineers, and data analysts.
- Leverage the Agile methodology to ensure alignment of data science roadmap, features, and stories to business priorities and value streams.
- Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.

- Bachelor's Degree Quantitative Discipline (math, statistics, analytics, data science, economics, computer science, physics, engineering) (Required)
- Master's/Advanced Degree Quantitative Discipline (math, statistics, analytics, data science, economics, computer science, physics, engineering) (Preferred)
- Good communication skills. (Required)
