AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS) is looking to hire a Data Scientist to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company by creating solutions that positively impact patients and their communities.
Requirements
- Experience working on data science projects using python, as well as statistical and AI/ML frameworks to address business use cases.
- Experience in data engineering, insight generation, advanced analytics, and data science.
- Developing visualizations with tools like Power BI, Tableau or similar.
- Experience preferred with GenAI application development, LLM prompt engineering and LLM-based solution architecture like RAG.
- Experience with advanced analytics and data science platforms like Dataiku, Alteryx or Sagemaker.
- Experience building solutions using AWS services.
Responsibilities
- Develop solutions and data products to support a variety of AI, gen AI, data science and automation requests using python and other tools.
- Troubleshoot algorithms, protocols, and software programs.
- Demonstrate skill in multiple data engineering and data science techniques and appropriately modify protocols, as required, to suit the changing needs of our business.
- Perform routine tasks competently and independently and generate reliable and consistent results.
- Analyze and critique results, noting significant variances or deviations.
- Learn and understand new methods and technologies.
- Create documentation and data visualizations to effectively communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences

- This is a hybrid role based in Lake County, IL
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, and data security.
- Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years experience or Master’s Degree
- Experience building solutions for finance stakeholders.
