Talbots is looking for a designer to create original product designs through vision and AI illustration of design concepts and artwork into clothing appropriate for their customer.
Requirements
- Must have experience in machine knit sweater category with technical knowledge of gauge, yarn count, stitch and jacquard constructions
- Strong computer skills especially Adobe Illustrator as well as Photoshop and Microsoft Office
- Working experience using MS Teams and PLM, a plus
Responsibilities
- Responsible for technical package process, to include drawings, artwork packages, measurements, design detail specifications, and design detail specifications and hand off to Technical Design
- Assist in creating and maintaining knitdown requests, sketch boards, technical package adjustments, and fabric/stitch library
- Assist during fit sessions, take notes, and update sketches as needed.
- Research competitive market and present results and ideas
- Assist in executing designs to the Conceptual Assortment Plan slots while staying within the pre-determined development ratios
- Continue to develop and increase understanding of Talbot’s customer
- Build collaborative relationships with vendors and cross functional partners
Other
- Knowledge and experience at a level normally acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Independent, self-motivated, and detail oriented.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Must be highly organized
