The Associate Designer will work closely with the Head Design Manager to execute the design and development of textile products with a focus on the Flooring category for the West Elm brand.
Requirements
- Must be highly efficient in Adobe Creative Suite
- Must be skilled at CAD. And able to manipulate artwork, mockups and generate colorways
- Understanding of qualities and constructions, techniques, and how they affect price points, look, and end use
Responsibilities
- Manage all technical specifications and communication with vendors including making comments on samples, and sending product approvals in PLM
- Maintain and organize development samples both physically and digitally
- Create and maintain visual line list decks and presentation decks
- Create and maintain digital Pipeline
- Assist into researching new ideas, fabrications, and materials
- Present ideas and design concepts to Head Design Manager and category designers
- Consistently research industry trends to feed design inspiration and new collection development
Other
- The position is required to be in office 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday) max 30 hours a week. (This is non-negotiable)
- MUST provide Portfolio link (including password) on resume - or link to PDF work samples with application
- Degree in Textile Design or related field
- Minimum 2-3 years of design work experience, preferably in-home furnishings or textiles
- This role requires being onsite in the Dumbo Brooklyn office
