Vera Therapeutics is seeking to solve the business problem of developing and commercializing treatments for serious immunological diseases, including IgA nephropathy, by hiring an Associate Director, Market Research to guide brand planning, commercialization, and product launches.

Requirements

  • Advanced technical expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research design and execution
  • Proven ability to synthesize insights across diverse data sources and translate findings into strategic recommendations
  • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience with emerging AI methodologies applied to market research and commercial insights generation (e.g., AI-assisted data mining, text analytics, advanced segmentation, or predictive modeling using machine learning tools)
  • Familiarity with syndicated data tools (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony Health) and secondary analytics required
  • Desired experience with product launches, rare disease or specialty markets, and agile biotech environments
  • Ability to execute independently and present to senior stakeholders in ambiguous and fast-paced settings

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute comprehensive market research projects from design through delivery to address critical business questions
  • Apply deep technical knowledge in qualitative and quantitative methodologies to recommend fit-for-purpose research designs
  • Drive synthesis across varied data types to produce actionable and strategic insights that support launch preparation and commercial decision-making
  • Develop clear and compelling presentations that effectively communicate insights to senior leadership and cross-functional partners
  • Manage multiple complex research projects simultaneously with agility and precision
  • Oversee external research vendors to ensure technical rigor, timely execution, and alignment with business needs
  • Monitor data quality, analysis, and interpretation with a critical eye toward accuracy and relevance

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, MPH, or related field) strongly preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in market research or insights, preferably within pharmaceutical/biotech settings; experience with product launches is essential
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced and dynamic biotech environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
