Tencent Games needs to expand its game user research capabilities to deliver and analyze external playtests and provide timely insights from target audiences to support studios in delivering intended experiences.
Requirements
- Experience with user research or games user research
- Knowledge of human-computer interaction, psychology, sociology, or a field with a relevant focus on qualitative research
- Familiarity with research methods and tools
- Ability to analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data
- Experience with designing studies and conducting interviews and playtests
- Knowledge of the games industry and various genres and titles
Responsibilities
- Work with studios and production teams to understand research needs and translate these into an actionable plan
- Design studies from participant selection to surveys and interview guides
- Conduct in-depth interviews, usability playtests, gameplay playtests, or other types of research to gather quality, un-biased data
- Analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data
- Merge findings into reports in a clear, actionable format
- Explore new tools and research methods and opportunities in-line with changes in the games industry
Other
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to prioritize multiple work streams and work well in a team
- Passion for games user research and assessing the player experience
- Bachelor's degree in human-computer interaction, psychology, sociology, or a related field
- Must work from the Playa Vista office, with most research conducted in person in a dedicated lab
