Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Software Engineer - Developer to join the P8 Mission Systems Trainers software team. This team develops software that implements training objectives and integrates the P8 Tactical Open Mission System (TOMS) into training products. The role involves designing, developing, and deploying software for real-time simulation of mission system devices and support tools, as well as providing integration support for P-8 Mission System assets in training environments.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in proficient in Java and familiar with C++
  • 2 years of experience in Linux development
  • 2 years of experience in General networking knowledge. Software integration experience.
  • 2 years of experience in Eclipse development
  • Knowledge of specification format requirements, guidelines, and change control processes. Understanding of relationship between specifications/standards and aircraft/product certification systems
  • Knowledge of host environments, including processors, operating systems and networks. Ability to build, integrate and troubleshoot software components
  • Knowledge of software programming languages and databases and the ability to apply to the software domain. Programming languages encompass higher order languages, auto-coded languages and assembly languages

Responsibilities

  • Supports the design, development, test, and maintenance of non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards
  • Assists with review, analysis and translation of customer requirements into initial design of software products
  • Supports development, maintenance, enhancement and optimization of software products and functionalities for systems integrations
  • Supports development, documentation and maintenance of architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products
  • Supports debugging and resolution of issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products
  • Participates in handling user inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues and user feedback analysis
  • Supports development, establishment, monitoring and improvement of software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks

  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start).
  • The selected applicant will be a member of a high performing, collaborative team, and a self-starter who has background in P-8 training device development and integration is preferred.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
