ASRC Federal is seeking a software engineer to support the development and sustainment of the U.S. Navy Aegis Weapons System
Requirements
- Experience with Unix/Linux environments and Microsoft Office tools
- Academic exposure to analyzing software requirements for implementation or testing, software change management tools, and Agile methodologies
- Academic experience developing software in Java, C/C++, Python, or comparable languages (Python preferred)
- Developing and executing automated or manual system-level, thread-based test procedures from system/software requirements
- Operating and managing complex real-time control or weapons systems
- Providing Tier 1 troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Writing scripts or utility programs to support testing or system integration
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain manual and automated system-level test procedures by analyzing system and software requirements during or prior to development activities
- Operate the Aegis system, simulators, peripheral devices, and test tools to perform a wide range of manual and automated system integration tests
- Collect, analyze, and document test data and test results
- Identify, document, and track system issues, including diagnostic and debug information; verify fixes
- Support troubleshooting, isolation, and resolution of complex integration issues
- Conduct Integration and Test operations to ensure lab environment readiness and availability
- Assist with installation, configuration, and integration of software components into the Aegis system and associated equipment suites
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government secret clearance, U.S. Citizenship is required
- Ability to work on-site in equipment laboratories and support occasional testing outside regular business hours
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and organizational skills
- Strong collaboration, presentation, and written/oral communication skills
