ENERCON's Power Delivery Group is seeking an Associate Substation Engineering Manager to recruit, mentor, and manage top technical talent, drive innovation in substation engineering, build strong client relationships, lead strategic growth, and ensure high-quality, on-time project delivery.
Requirements
- Electric Utility experience in the substation function required
- 3+ years related work experience in substation design and analysis with a minimum of 1 year in a leadership role
- EIT highly preferred
- Leadership, creativity, and technical background to understand and develop the substation business
- Practical knowledge of engineering methods and techniques with the ability to read and interpret engineering and design plans for substation projects
- Understanding of NESC and NEC design requirements and basic regulatory guidelines
- Experience in electrical codes, standards, and criteria for power systems
Responsibilities
- Recruit, manage, and supervise both local and remote technical staff to develop and grow the Substation organization.
- Provide ongoing mentoring to direct reports and ensure mentoring is occurring across the team.
- Lead, coordinate, and build teamwork among other team members and disciplines at all levels
- Lead projects and proposal development or substation projects.
- Perform quality checks on proposals, conceptual and detail design substation projects.
- Work with Project Managers and clients to ensure high-quality, on-time deliverables within budget.
- Develop and understand scope definition and budget development in support of Requests for Proposals
Other
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university in Engineering or related discipline
- Entrepreneurial background and experience in growing a team and expanding business footprint
- Exceptional attention to detail and a talent for providing excellent customer service
- Demonstrated management experience of a work team delivering on goals and objectives
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
