James Avery Craftsman (JAC) is looking to solve the problem of intermediate model and model series work, model repair/maintenance, and product development, including stone setting, hand soldering, and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD)/Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) to meet JAC design and quality standards and on-time deliveries.
Requirements
- Knowledge of model making methods and practices.
- Ability to draft utilizing CAD software.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in CAD/CAM.
- Knowledge of Rhino, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or equivalent.
- Knowledge and understanding of company product quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Performs all bench work utilizing traditional bench skills and CAD/CAM to fabricate JAC models.
- Helps execute the development of ring and other series model sets.
- Utilizes CAD 3-D modeling technology to reverse engineer with consideration of all form, fit and function.
- Assists with analyzing conceptual models and highly detailed functioning samples using CAD/CAM and bench skills to ensure the ability to maintain the integrity, appearance and functionality of a variety of products.
- Contributes to the development, integration and monitoring of new production processes/techniques, tool innovations and systems to enhance product quality and efficiency of various manufacturing methods.
- Utilizes skills in wax modification, clean-up and finishing of product line samples.
- Performs mold making in all materials: RTV, natural rubber, and silicone.
Other
- Associate’s or Technical Degree in jewelry manufacturing or related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- 2 years’ experience in jewelry making, jewelry design, metal work or relevant work experience.
- Must be detail-oriented with a discerning eye.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, Jewelry-Making, Jewelry-Design, Metals, Sculpture or related field.
