The University of Florida's Biochemistry and Molecular Biology department is seeking to complement or expand its existing research strengths in metabolism, structural biochemistry, and molecular biology by hiring an Assistant/Associate Professor. This role will contribute to the department's growing research atmosphere and educational activities.
Requirements
- PhD in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology, or a related field
- Demonstrated proficiency in obtaining grant funding from the NIH, NSF, or DOD
Responsibilities
- Mentoring graduate students and research fellows
- Team-teaching at graduate/professional levels
- Conducting research in areas such as metabolism, structural biochemistry, or molecular biology
- Utilizing world-class facilities for NMR/MRI, structural biology, mass spectrometry, epigenetics, cancer, neuroscience, and computing
- Leveraging supercomputing facilities with an emphasis on AI in biomedical research
- Contributing to the department's research atmosphere
- Complementing or expanding current departmental research strengths

- Candidates shall hold the highest degree appropriate to their field or possess equivalent qualifications based on professional experience.
- A candidate shall be expected to demonstrate successful experience pertinent to the position they are being recommended and have demonstrated qualities relevant to the goals of the academic unit in which they will be employed.
