The company is looking to fill a position that can handle complex product liability litigation and claims, and provide high-quality claim handling and litigation supervision.
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of U.S. civil procedure and legal system
- Understanding of advanced concepts of technical and engineering matters
- Knowledge of Microsoft Applications, Word, Excel
- Product liability defense experience preferred
- International work experience and foreign languages preferred
Responsibilities
- Supervise and handle complex Product Liability litigation and claims
- Conduct investigation and defense strategy and provide client reports with analysis and advice on further handling
- Evaluate liability and damages to determine proper reserves, develop defense strategy and negotiate settlements
- Attend mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, small claim hearings, depositions, inspections, legal engineering conferences, trials
- Analyze and draft various legal documents, releases and contracts
- Handle Non-Marine claims other than PL
- Conduct seminars for clients and staff on important claims technical and legal issues
Other
- J.D. or LLB Degree, and admitted to the Bar
- Minimum five years of tort experience
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work as a team member
- Some travel required
- Work from Home four days per week
