Kollmorgen is looking to improve and customize the browsing experience and analytics about visitors on their website by hiring an Automation Engineer Intern to work on test analysis, software development, and maintenance of test equipment, programs, and fixtures related to product development, fabrication, and production.
Requirements
- Pursuing a 4-year Engineering degree.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills for direct and frequent communication with internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Must have good interpersonal skills for our multi-functional team environment.
- Ability to work with all levels, including management and production personnel, to resolve technical issues that are identified through the manufacturing process.
- Knowledge of electric motors and air moving subsystems is a plus.
- Experience with controls, actuators, drives, and precision motors is desirable.
- Familiarity with automation offering, comprised of controls, actuators, drives, and precision motors is a plus.
Responsibilities
- The automation engineering team works closely with the operations and manufacturing engineering teams.
- The engineer is responsible for the test analysis, software development, and maintenance of test equipment, programs, and fixtures related to the development, fabrication, and production of products.
- These products will include electromagnetic devices such as motors as well as higher-level assemblies that may include motors, gears, lead screws, etc.
- Likely assignments can include Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineer, Applications Engineer, Software Engineer and Test & Automation Engineer.
- The specific responsibilities within each assignment may vary based upon the immediate needs of the business.
- The engineer will work with all levels, including management and production personnel, to resolve technical issues that are identified through the manufacturing process.
- The engineer will be responsible for direct and frequent communication with internal and external customers and suppliers.
