Gardiner is looking to solve the problem of building automation and cutting-edge control systems by hiring an Automation Engineering Manager to guide a high-performing team and drive the success of complex automation projects across commercial environments.
Requirements
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, AutoCAD, engineering drawing tools, and programming related to building automation systems
- Widespread knowledge and hands-on experience with multiple building automation controls platforms, including but not limited to: KMC, Niagara, Tridium, and Johnson Controls (JCI)
Responsibilities
- Leadership of a dedicated team of 6-8 technical personnel to achieve departmental goals both listed and not currently listed below.
- Development and oversight of standardized programming and programming procedures.
- Development and oversight of system integration practices.
- Development and oversight of Automation engineering practices and procedures.
- Testing and implementation of new and emerging technologies to be incorporated into the Automation business.
- Hardware and Software assessment/development to deliver improved efficiency for Automation Engineering, Automation field operations group, Automation programming group, Applied Intelligence group.
- Coordination with other department managers/leaders for feedback and guidance to provide constant process and performance improvement.
Other
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business, or a related field as appropriate
- Eight or more years of experience in building systems or operational processes, with at least three years in a leadership or management role
- Experience in design-build construction and HVAC highly preferred
- Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, manage resources, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable in customer-facing and cross-functional team environments
