Hoyle Tanner is seeking an Aviation Engineering Manager to lead and coach Aviation engineers and project engineers to maximize workflow results, project efficiency, increase targeted technical training, harness innovative technologies to improve design delivery and team collaboration, be a thought leader in the aviation industry, and to foster a rewarding work environment.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required
  • BS in Civil Engineering (preferred), Electrical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience, with experience mentoring or coaching engineering staff and a track record of developing technical talent
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, hydrology, drainage, and transportation planning

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary coach for engineers specializing in airport civil engineering including airside, landside, and building/ terminal/ infrastructure projects
  • Design and implement training programs focused on airport engineering technical skills such as 2D drafting and 3D modeling (AutoCAD Civil 3D) for airport site plans and grading plans, utility planning utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D for conflict identification and resolution
  • Project management and cost estimation (Microsoft Project) for airport projects
  • Hydraulics, hydrology, drainage, and transportation planning relevant to airside and landside infrastructure
  • Airfield lighting, navigational aid and marking design
  • Manage all civil engineering staff with 0-9 years of experience within the airport engineering group, focusing on mentorship, skill development, and career progression
  • Monitor, analyze, and manage resource planning for all engineering projects ensuring a reasonable allocation of resources to most efficiently meet all project schedules
