AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Aviation Planning Intern to assist in the development and evaluation of airport planning projects, ensuring airfield designs meet current regulatory standards and contributing to technical reports and client deliverables.
Requirements
- Microsoft and CAD skills required.
- AviPLAN, Canva, GIS experience is desired.
- Capability to research and synthesize airport data with directions from senior staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and evaluation of airport planning projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and AviPLAN.
- Learn, review and apply Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circulars (ACs) and other regulatory standards to ensure airfield designs meet current requirements.
- Support data collection, organization, and analysis related to aircraft operations, runway usage, airfield geometry, and many other facets of aviation planning.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, planning memos, and client deliverables.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate on project tasks, both independently and in group settings.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn new tools, processes, and industry best practices.
Other
- Must have completed 60 hours towards a related degree from an accredited college/university by the start of the internship (Spring 2026).
- Interest in airside and landside aviation projects is desired
- Good interpersonal skills and capable of developing technical writing, and communications skills is required.
