Benchmark Space Systems is looking for an Avionics Engineering Intern to join their team to design, build, and test technologies supporting the next-generation of in-space propulsion products for small satellites.
Requirements
- Hands-on test and debugging skills in the lab, including use of standard equipment such as logic-analyzers, oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, multimeters, and data acquisition systems.
- Familiarity with configuration management processes and tools such as Git.
- Experience with C or C++ coding in resource constrained systems such as microcontrollers or embedded computers.
- Schematic design Experience with KiCAD, Altium, or similar.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
Responsibilities
- Design circuits and printed circuit boards (PCB), from concept through simulation and layout.
- Creating, modifying, and reviewing test plans and procedures.
- Perform initial PCB bring-up testing, and any final assembly as necessary.
- Creating and managing design, assembly, and testing schedule.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement in test process and workflow to increase efficiency and quality of internal and external deliverables.
- Documenting test results, procedural redlines, and authoring test reports.
- Execute on analysis, schematic capture, board layout, manufacture, and test/verification on prototype and flight electronics.
Other
- Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and seeking a degree in electrical, software, or computer engineering, or a closely related field.
