NSI requires an Avionics Journeyman Software Engineer to support the Navy Consolidated Automated Support System (CASS) Program efforts, specifically providing full-spectrum Software Engineering Support to the CASS Fleet Support Team (FST) within the US Navy Fleet Readiness Center Southeast at Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida. The CASS and electronic CASS (eCASS) Family of Testers (FoT) aims to avoid repair costs of more than $1.1 billion per year by enabling fleet intermediate-level maintenance activities to test and troubleshoot avionics Weapons Replaceable Assemblies and Shop Replaceable Assemblies.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of C++
  • Ability to use Visual Studio 2010
  • Debugging C++ Wrapper, Drivers, and support handlers
  • Create drivers for different hardware components mainly instrumentation.
  • Understanding of DUTs or UUTs
  • Know how to use TestStand, LabVIEW and any other NI products
  • PXIE Chassis, controllers, pcie

Responsibilities

  • Apply software engineering knowledge in support of the design, development, T&E, implementation, maintenance, and administration of new and/or existing software systems.
  • Collaborate, plan and execute in support of CASS and eCASS development/upgrade efforts.
  • Develop state-of-the-art systems, such as the Common Development Environment for Test (CDET).
  • Create drivers for different hardware components mainly instrumentation.
  • Debug C++ Wrapper, Drivers, and support handlers.
  • Utilize TestStand, LabVIEW and any other NI products.
  • Work with PXIE Chassis, controllers, pcie.

Other

  • 3 years of experience and preferably some Department of Defense experience.
  • Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/software engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • A Master’s Degree plus 5 years of experience is an allowable substitution.
