Blue Origin is looking to solve the problem of developing and qualifying avionic hardware products, specifically inverters and motor controller hardware, for the New Glenn orbital launch vehicle, ensuring reliable flight hardware for reusable launch vehicles.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field with 5+ years of direct experience in electronics hardware development.
- In-depth understanding of power electronics.
- Familiar with fault tolerant and high reliability systems.
- Familiar with testing and qualifying hardware per standards like MIL-STD-1540, DO-160, or SMC-S-016.
- Hands-on experience with the understanding of full product development lifecycle of electronics hardware.
- Graduate degree in electrical or aerospace engineering or a related field.
- 7+ years of recent electronics or power systems development for hardware used in harsh or space environments.
Responsibilities
- Manage, and maintain design documentation (hardware requirements, CAD, drawings, ICDs, BOMs, etc.)
- Provide hands on technical direction and support during development, flight build, test, and integration into the vehicle.
- Work closely with the program and manufacturing team through build, test, and delivery of flight hardware.
- Support the development of the Automated Test Equipment and transition of the product from development to production release.
- Be responsible for the successful qualification of the hardware.
Other
- Limited travel to and work at remote sites supporting test integration, commissioning, and training.
