Cross River is looking to implement, maintain, and enhance rule-based and data-driven AML detection pipelines within Palantir Foundry to combat financial crime and ensure regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Palantir Foundry Mastery: Demonstrated expertise developing within Foundry using Pipelines, Code Workbooks (Python, PySpark, SQL), Object Builder, and Ontology, with the ability to train others effectively
- Technical Training Experience: Proven track record of developing and delivering technical training that accelerates team capabilities
- Enterprise Architecture: Experience designing scalable data architectures that support complex business requirements
- Advanced Big Data Processing: Expert-level experience with Spark, PySpark, and SQL for large-scale data transformation and analysis
- Prior experience supporting AML detection system in Foundry.
- Experience designing training programs for complex technical platforms
- Exposure to anomaly detection and machine learning-based alerting techniques.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs to rapidly upskill team members in Foundry tools including Code Workbooks, Object Builders, and Pipeline Workflows
- Lead technical design reviews and provide architectural guidance for implementation of complex AML detection scenarios
- Collaborate with Compliance and Product teams to implement, and maintain AML monitoring scenarios in Foundry using Code Workbooks, Object Builders, and Pipeline Workflows
- Implement business provided technical detection logic, supporting both rule-based and advanced data-driven use cases
- Lead the implementation of reusable components and patterns for data enrichment, feature engineering, and temporal analysis
- Establish testing methodologies to validate correct implementation of scenario logic, pipeline outputs, and transformations
- Monitor pipeline execution, resolve data processing issues, and optimize Spark-based workflows for performance and reliability
Other
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for Palantir Foundry
- Develop team capabilities through knowledge transfer and structured training
- Exceptional technical expertise coupled with the ability to rapidly train and mentor team members in Foundry's tools and methodologies
- Collaborate with compliance analysts, data modelers, data engineers and platform engineers
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and knowledge repositories for Foundry implementation
- Design and implement formal knowledge transfer sessions to rapidly build team capabilities in Foundry tools
- Establish frameworks that enable scalable scenario implementation across the team
- Define standards for pipeline efficiency and maintainability
- Work within Foundry's Ontology framework to model key AML entities such as customers, transactions, accounts, and alerts
- Oversee implementation quality and testing. In collaboration with QA and Compliance stakeholders to verify accuracy, edge cases, and scenario coverage
- Implement quality metrics and monitoring systems for AML detection pipelines
- Stakeholder Engagement & Documentation
- Maintain clear, version-controlled documentation as it relates to implementation of AML scenarios and associated data flows.
- Work cross-functionally with Investigations, BSA/AML Compliance, and Data Governance teams to ensure alignment with regulatory and operational standards.
- Serve as L2 support for AML scenario pipelines and address issues raised by analysts or engineering operations.
- Participate in platform enhancement efforts related to AML & Anti-Fraud implementation, rule authoring frameworks, and investigation tooling.
- Leadership & Mentorship: 7+ years of technical experience with demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and mentor junior engineers
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions while anticipating future needs
- Communication Excellence: Outstanding communication skills with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels
- AML Knowledge: Understanding of AML typologies (e.g., structuring, layering, smurfing) and experience operationalizing AML scenarios in a production system.
- Experience integrating alert outputs with case management tools.
