The Personal Insurance Data Technology team at Travelers is looking to modernize its data engineering practices to handle a rapidly increasing breadth and complexity in its data landscape, ensuring the continued delivery of mission-critical operational and analytical data assets.
Requirements
- Seven years of data engineering or equivalent experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training with data tools, techniques, and manipulation.
- Deep knowledge of data design across legacy and modern data technologies
- Ability to help scale the organization to support a data landscape that is rapidly increasing in breadth and complexity.
- Experience with Teradata & Snowflake warehouses, unstructured and noSQL data stores
- Experience with integration with operational data layers and SaaS platforms like Salesforce and Guidewire.
- Experience in data design across legacy and modern data technologies
Responsibilities
- Modernize data design practices across analytical and transactional systems, focusing on optimizing design activities across multiple data platforms, including but not limited to Teradata & Snowflake warehouses, unstructured and noSQL data stores, and integration with operational data layers and SaaS platforms like Salesforce and Guidewire.
- Lead change management to advance adoption of AI accelerators to transform and optimize data capability delivery across the software delivery lifecycle.
- Implement and develop analytic data products, data movement and data persistence capability from pilot/proof of concept to production, on-going support, and maintenance.
- Recommend data strategies to support various consumption patterns, including enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure.
- Oversee the operationalizing and automating of all capabilities to ensure secure, supported and scalable solutions.
- Present recommendations to senior management and executives and influences decisions at the executive level.
- Guide and coach senior team members and managers to accelerate career development.

- Industry level expertise of capabilities and direction of technology coupled with an in-depth knowledge of the technology required and the needs of business environments necessary to lead assigned teams.
