Markon is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to support our Intelligence Customer out of Chantilly, VA, to develop business applications and refine cloud systems
Requirements
- AWS Professional level certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
- Strong knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and Bedrock
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., CloudFormation)
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and security best practices
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage complex AWS cloud environments
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and security
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools like CloudFormation
- Implement and manage disaster recovery and business continuity solutions
- Collaborate with development teams to support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Monitor and troubleshoot cloud services and applications
- Implement and maintain security controls and compliance measures
Other
- An active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph (preferably from this client) is required to begin employment
- CompTIA Security+ Certification (IAT level 2 or higher)
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar technical field
- Ability to manage multiple priority tasks
