Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Back End Engineer to join a Federal Program working hybrid in Colorado Springs, CO to develop ground satellite operations software.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python and Java or C++; experience deploying and maintaining software in Kubernetes
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including Lambda, ECS, EKS, CloudWatch, S3, EFS/EBS, EC2, and RDS
- Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting APIs, distributed NoSQL and relational databases, caching systems, and event-driven multi-tier architectures
- Experience building containerized applications and serverless architectures
- Strong background in task automation and CI/CD pipeline development using GitHub or GitLab
Responsibilities
- Develop ground satellite operations software using Python and AWS services
- Build Python microservices deployed to cloud or on-premise environments with a focus on scalability, security, cost, and performance
- Optimize resource utilization and automate processes using Kubernetes and AWS best practices
- Contribute to the efficient and reliable operations of thousands of satellites
Other
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including satellite operators and software engineers to gather requirements, implement features, and resolve issues
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 4+ years of professional experience in backend development, DevOps, or a related role
- Must have an Active U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.
