Gannett Co., Inc. is looking for a Back-end Web Developer to develop, test, and release web experiences in a timely fashion, ensuring high standards of quality and adapting to changing business and customer demands.
Requirements
- Node.js
- HTML, CSS, JS
- Website performance analysis and improvement
- Gulp, GraphQL, Regular Expressions, Patching Packages
- Basic understanding of Content Distribution Networks (CDNs) such as Fastly or Akamai
- Comfortable working in Linux environments, as well as cloud services like Google Cloud Services or AWS
- Have used source control (GitHub/GitLab) to manage source code
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and release web experiences in a timely fashion.
- Work with developers, designers, testers, and product/business managers to develop and refine new features consistent with our product roadmap.
- Learn and absorb new technologies and techniques quickly.
- Be innovative: contributing ideas and working with constituents to evaluate and propose approaches that balance speed-to-market with what’s needed to sustainably scale our services to an enormous audience.
- Creating websites that are accessible to users who require assistive technologies
- Experience with creating and maintaining automated unit and integration tests
- Experience with continuous integration tools such as Github Actions or equivalent.
