General Atomics Integrated Intelligence Inc. (GA Intelligence) is looking to solve complex, mission-critical problems in real-time global situational awareness and battle management by developing cutting-edge software solutions that transform raw data into actionable intelligence.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background in backend development (e.g., Java, Typescript, Javascript, or similar) and/or data/analytics systems.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes, event-driven systems) is desired.
  • Background in analytics, data engineering, or machine learning pipelines is desired.
  • Familiarity with Kafka, AWS, NiFi, and GeoMesa is a plus.
  • Experience working on government or defense contracts is a plus.
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies is required.
  • Experience with scalable backend systems and robust analytics pipelines is required.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Manage 3–5 software squads (typically 4–6 engineers per squad), focusing on performance, growth, team cohesion, and delivery.
  • People Management: Hire, onboard, mentor, and retain high-performing engineers. Support career development and conduct regular feedback and performance reviews.
  • Execution and Delivery: Drive team accountability for timely, high-quality delivery. Remove blockers, manage priorities, and ensure clarity across teams.
  • Technical Oversight: Partner with tech leads to ensure sound software architecture, scalable backend systems, and robust analytics pipelines.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Data Science, and other Engineering Managers to align goals and deliver value.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous learning, operational excellence, and adaptive process improvement across teams.

Other

  • Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to the completion of a Bachelors degree in Software Engineering or related discipline and six or more years progressively complex experience.
  • 2+ years in a people management role
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build trust across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
